Needless to say that fresh air, sunshine, and some greenery is good for you in any manner you can get. Across the Port Washington Public Library is a great place to get just this, and more. 

"I take the Long Island Railroad and walk by the Blumenfeld Park everyday. On a bright, sunny winter morning, there was a little bit of ice just shimmering by the track, and I was attracted by it.  I sat down in the early morning sun, and sipped some coffee before heading to the train station." Says Mario a local resident of Port Washington.

 

Its a great place to relax and let the kids play.  With the ongoing efforts to improve the Blumenfeld Park, major new features have been added in the recent years.  A new water splash park was added, as well as the addition of a new slide for kids up to the age of 5. 

Though there are still small areas of the Blumenfeld Park that could use a little more attention, it is no doubt a comfortable place to find yourself, especially for kids.

According to Saima, a mother of a 5 year-old who plays here, "My child loves it here, especially because it is so close to the library.  We get our books and come out for a little while before going home."

The Blumenfeld Park is an excellent retreat and a fine place to be year round.
